LOOKING FOR YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce is looking for motivated middle and high school students who are interested in starting their own business! The Chamber is continuing its innovative and highly acclaimed Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!), with a new session beginning in February 2023.

Now in its ninth year, YEA! is a groundbreaking and exciting after school program that transforms students into real, confident entrepreneurs. Through this program, students in grades 7 – 12 work closely with local business leaders to cultivate and research business ideas, write business plans, pitch to a panel of investors, obtain funding, develop their brand, and launch their business or social movement. They may also compete for significant college scholarships. By learning entrepreneurial skills before they exit high school, the students develop not only the business and social skills so often attributed to entrepreneurship, but the mindset that will help them achieve success with, and bring innovation to, all their future endeavors.

Additional Information:

• The four-month YEA! program is open to middle and high school students (7th – 12th grade)
• Class will meet every Tuesday from 5 pm to 8 pm, starting on February 7th and running through May 30th
• Class is held at Chadwick School. Adherence to parking, drop-off, and pick-up restrictions is mandatory.
• Tuition is $895. Please provide payment information on the application as directed. Note that payments will NOT be processed before February 7, 2023.
• There are two payment options:

Option I: Payment in full, due no later than February 7, 2023.

Option II: 50% of payment due on February 7, with remaining 50% due March 7, 2023.

• Once we have received your application, we’ll review it and then contact you to arrange for a brief personal interview.

The information sessions are highly recommended for interested applicants! In addition to the Information Sessions currently being held on campus at local schools, there are two more in-person Student Information sessions and two virtual Information Sessions for interested parents and students, scheduled to take place in January. Details above. The virtual sessions will be recorded, and we will add their access links to our website (this page) as quickly as possible. If you would really like us to come to your campus and do an in-person Information Session, please contact us right away and we will do our best to accommodate you.
