Peninsula Locals Invited to Vie for "King / Queen of the Hill" to Raise Funds for Non-Profits
Peninsula residents and business representatives have a great opportunity to give back to the community, by running for "King of the Hill" or "Queen of the Hill." Through the campaign, which runs from September 5 through November 17, candidates raise funds for local non-profit organizations which sponsor them. The candidate raising the most funds will be declared "King of the Hill" or "Queen of the Hill" for one year, and will represent their sponsoring non-profit organization(s) and the Peninsula community at local events.
The campaign is a unique and fun way for candidates and their sponsoring non-profit organizations to raise funds and to get exposure for the organizations' programs and services. Candidates must be 21 or older and reside or work on the Palos Verdes Peninsula (Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes and unincorporated areas on the Peninsula) and be sponsored by one or more non-profit organizations who are members of the PVP Chamber of Commerce. Eighty percent of each candidate's net revenue will go to their sponsoring organization. Twenty percent will be retained by the Chamber to support their many community service programs, scholarships and events.
Click here to download the program Guidelines and Application. Applications will be accepted until 5:00pm Wednesday, August 29. For more information, contact the Chamber at 310-377-8111 or office@palosverdeschamber.com.
