The City of Rolling Hills Estates was incorporated on September 18, 1957 in order to preserve its rural environment and equestrian lifestyle, as characterized by rolling hills, vast open spaces and three-rail white fences. The City operates the public riding rings and the Peter Weber Equestrian Center (municipal boarding stables), and sponsors a variety of equestrian-related activities throughout the year. The City of Rolling Hills Estates has more than 20 miles of scenic bridle trails. CHANDLER PARK Located next to the Rolling Hills Estates City Hall at the corner of Crenshaw Boulevard and Palos Verdes Drive North, Chandler Park offers 3-1/2 acres surrounded by towering pepper trees. Facilities include an equestrian ring and over two acres of open grass field perfect for kite-flying, frisbee throwing, baseball, or an afternoon picnic. Parking is provided in the neighboring City Hall parking lot.
CHANDLER PRESERVE Located north of the Dapplegray ball fields, east of the Empty Saddle Club, and west of Rolling Hills Country club, in Rolling Hills Estates, the Chandler Preserve offers 27 acres of open space for hiking and horseback riding
