Advocacy: The Voice of Business The Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce presents a strong organization and a united voice on behalf of the business interests of its members with legislators and government officials. The united front, which combines a broad range of members including home-based businesses, community organizations, sole proprietorships and large corporations is necessary to protect, maintain and improve the business climate of the area.
The Chamber and the Legislative Affairs Committe has established relationships with legislators and government officials and informs its membership on governmental matters through its Legislative Affairs Committee. The Chamber along with its Legislative Affairs Committee meet to review and discuss propositions and ballot measures and take positions that reflect the business needs and interests of its membership. The Chamber does not however endorse individual candidates.
The Chamber hosts an Annual Legislative Luncheon that gives its membership the opportunity to meet legislators and pose questions. The Chamber also actively participates with other chambers of commerce such as the South Bay Area Associaton of Chambers of Commerce (SBACC) and the Western Association of Chambers of Commerce (WACE) to work for a healthy business environment both regionally and nationally.
